Clint Eastwood says he was offered the role of James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service after Sean Connery departed the series. However, he declined because he felt the role was too associated with Connery. George Lazenby took the part for the film. In 1978, Eastwood was also offered the role of Superman, which ultimately went to Christopher Reeve after he declined.
