The brilliant cartoonist Pete Emslie has a poignant article on his blog that reiterates an observation that many of us have made in the past: today's movies generally look bland and lousy compared to films from prior decades. We're not talking about the content of the films (though most pale in comparison to old movies in this department as well). Rather, we're talking about the actual look of the film.
