Anthony Hopkins' horror flick The Rite topped the weekend boxoffice followed by the remake of Charles Bronson's The Mechanic. Both performed unspectacularly, but within studio expectations. The relatively modestly-budgeted movies look to be on a healthy course toward profitability. With the announcement of the Oscar nominations, several films got a boost with The King's Speech and True Grit the main beneficiaries.
