Donald Westlake, one of the most popular and acclaimed contemporary mystery writers, has died at age 75. Many of Westlake's novels inspired films, including
Point Blank, The Hot Rock, Cops and Robbers, Bank Shot, The Split, and
The Busy Body. Westlake also dabbled in screenwriting and earned an Oscar nomination for his screenplay for the 1990 film
The Grifters. According the IMDB, he is also rumored to have made uncredited contributions to the 1997 James Bond film
