In a development that may delight or disgust fans of director Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner, Alcon Entertainment has announced it has acquired rights to sequels and prequels to the Harrison Ford starrer that bombed in its initial release. The film was re-edited by Scott and later gained critical acclaim as well as a loyal fan following. Alcon promises to do justice to the legacy of the film, but also indicates the company is exploring various "platforms" for the new versions beyond theatrical features.
