The New York Times has a fun and interesting article about the legacy of celebrated Americans and what became of their college dorm rooms. Some of the most famous and infamous people had rooms on campus and, depending upon their enduring name recognition, present day students get bragging rights if they are assigned a celebrity's room. However, dorm rooms- like people- do not always age gracefully. While Alan Alda's dorm room is revered and has been the center of high profile parties celebrating his association with the place, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's dorm room is now a women's bathroom.
