Director Martin Campbell is known for being outspoken...and he is no longer being diplomatic about his feelings relating to the last James Bond film Quantum Of Solace, released in 2008. Campbell is credited with being a key ingredient in the successful relaunch of the series on two occasions: Pierce Brosnan's debut as 007 in GoldenEye and Daniel Craig's bow in Casino Royale. Both films were critical and popular successes. Campbell is letting it be known that he is not impressed with Quantum, which continued the storyline of Casino Royale. He calls the film "lousy" and says the story was uninteresting. Most fans did feel that the movie fell far short of Casino and that there was an over-abundance of action at the expense of characterization. Yet, the movie still grossed over $500 million worldwide.
