Way back in 1965, the pre-credits sequence of Thunderball amazed audiences with the scene in which James Bond makes a getaway via use of a personal jetpack. Unlike many of the cutting-edge gadgets seen in the Bond films, however, this one took quite some time to make it to consumers - 45 years, to be precise. In one of the more bizarre cases of copyright infringement, MGM has forced the 007 Refrigeration Company in England to change its name to the 700 Refrigeration Company, citing violation of intellectual property. The company,which uses the logo "Licenced to Chill"- claims the lawsuit was unnecessary because no one could possibly have mistaken the fridge firm with any aspect of Bond produced by MGM.
