What does John Wayne have that George Clooney, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson don't? How about a place on the Harris Poll list of top ten favorite actors. Since the poll started in 1994, the Duke has ridden high as the only deceased thespian to appear on the list - and he has been on the list since it began. The other actors mentioned were on the list last year, but dropped off this year. In fact, Duke places #6, beating out Matt Damon, Sean Connery, Sandra Bullock and Bruce Willis. Actually, Connery has much to be proud of, considering he hasn't made a film in years. Wayne's popularity isn't enjoying a renaissance because he has never been out of style. His videos have always had strong sales, his movies gather great ratings on TV and there is a ceaseless number of books being written about his career.
